A World First

Mid-air launch of an unmanned underwater vehicle, controlled from the air.

Together with Belgian partner Ziggzagg, EASP AIR presents a demonstrator that can be launched mid-air and operated directly from the Dornier 328 Multi-Role MPA.

Using MANET and SatCom data links, the UUV streams live video to onshore command centres and naval platforms. The DO328 loiters with long endurance — controlling the vehicle and relaying live feeds to command-and-control throughout the mission.

The result: efficient operations over extended distances, while the UUV preserves onboard energy for its core mission tasks.
